The truth was, I had no intention to run for this race & supposed to run at the Ipoh International Run on 2nd July, but due to urgent matter, I had to go back to Kuantan.
Race Day
The night before the race, I managed to sleep about couple of hours only, and around 3 am my wife woke me up to get ready. We headed to Kuantan around 4 am and reached my in-law’s place around 7 am.
Relexed for a while, and then got ready for the race. Felt quite tired coz of not enough sleep and long hours of driving. Around 7.30 am headed to Teluk Cempedak with my wife, Ina and all my kids, Ashraff, Ashmann, Ashryll, Ashrynn & Firdaus (my nephew). Reached TC around 7.45 am.
Immediatelly, started to warm-up coz I thought the race begun at 8.00 pm. But after the announcement made by the organiser at 8.00 am, it was followed by life performance from McD staffs for about 30 minutes, and then warmed-up session for about 10 minute.
8.40 am the race begun. I started to run quite fast for a few hundred meters and then slowing down when reaching the uphill. The sun already shining brightly and I could feel the heat. This must be a tough run for me.
I maintained my pace and overtook quite number of slow runners. This time didn’t want to pia kau kau coz I’m afraid of the heat might drained of my energy faster & also my body was not fit enough to run at a fast speed. There was no water station provided & I felt very very thirsty.

100 meters approaching the finishing line at Kuantan Stadium, I heard my kids shouted at me. “Abahhhh..!”, I could feel new energy came to me & started to increase my speed a bit. After crossing the finishing line, I received the red color card printed with no. 10th & the certificate. My timing was 38:20.
Thanks to my wife, Ina, if she didn’t follow me, I had to run back 7 km to TC to get my car. Fuh!!
